A Weekend of Firsts

So this was a busy weekend for Jack, full of "firsts". His first visit to a pumpkin patch. His first time eating non-formula food. And his first words!!!! He said "Da Da" this weekend for the first time. At least that's our story, and we're sticking to it. We got it on video. He's quite a talker right now, as you can hear in the video.

Since Jack had been acting pretty hungry lately, we thought it might be time to try adding some more food. Since we were already doing 4 8oz bottles, we had to go to rice cereal. It looks like cream of wheat or something like that. He really seemed to like it and of course, we got it on video.

And when I say he liked it, he really liked it.

More Pictures and Videos

We've uploaded some more pictures to the Picasa gallery so take a look. We've also got some new videos. Here's one of Jack falling asleep. It's really adorable how his eyes roll back into his head as he goes to sleep. I could hardly keep from laughing it was so cute.

And here's one of him laughing. He's one of the happiest babies I've ever seen. Always laughing and smiling.

New Pictures and Videos

So we're going to try posting some video up here and see how that goes. Here's one from after Jack's first bath. I took some video of the bath itself but it's a little too big to put up here so I'll have to edit it first. He really seems to like bath time. He only gets fussy if he's too cold.

And here's another one of Jack having some "tummy time" and play time. As you'll see in the video, the hardest part is keeping the dogs away from him while he's on it.

There's also a few new pictures up as well. Click here to check them out.

Meet Jack

Jack made his grand entrance at 3:27 pm on April 29, 2009 at Northside Cherokee. He's a big boy at 8lbs 9oz and 21 inches. Apparently Nylin babies are big babies. They're being cautious and keeping him in the nursery here for now to make sure he's ok. But everyone says he looks great and healthy and is very cute (and the nurses all think he looks like me). He'll be in the hospital until Friday evening at least so hopefully that'll be it.

Rachael was so great through all of it. Such a trooper! She's glad it's done and is just resting and recovering now. But all things considered, she's doing great! Neither one of us has ever been through this before but I expected it to be a lot more difficult. Of course, Rachael may have a different opinion on the level of difficulty but I'll let her speak to that.

Click here to check out some pictures.

It's time!!!!

Well, Rachael's water broke last night so we're in the hospital. We're doing OK (now that she's got the epidural). We're just waiting for him to come. We'll keep you posted and put up pictures as soon as we've got them. Keep us in your prayers!

Another Pic of Jack

So today we had to go to the hospital because Im a spaz and took a nose dive into the wall.  One positive by product of this is that we got another picture of Jack.  You can't see his cute button nose, but you can see his chin which he gets from his daddy :) .
